Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has expanded the capabilities of its California mobile app, adding new camping search tools, remote vehicle controls and travel planning features for owners of its camper van range.
The updated app introduces enhanced Camping Spot Search functionality, allowing users to search more than 45,000 camping locations across the British Isles using advanced filters, bookmark favourite sites and share locations with friends.
Volkswagen has also integrated what3words into the app, enabling users to navigate to precise locations using the three-word addressing system.
A new Travel Hub feature enables owners to organise upcoming trips with countdowns, images and nearby points of interest, while the updated interface provides remote access to vehicle information including fresh water levels, cabin temperature and auxiliary battery charge.
Owners can also remotely operate the California’s hydraulic-electric pop-up roof and adjust the temperature of the onboard cool box.
