BCA has launched its Leisure Vehicle Cosmetic Grading service to support buyers and sellers in identifying the conditions of motorhomes, campervans, and caravans.
The service provides insight into the visual condition of the interior, exterior and habitation area of a vehicle, and the information is displayed as part of BCA’s online catalogue listings.
The system has a regular fortnightly sales programme featuring a range of leisure vehicles.
The service was designed to support buyers and sellers alike, to make it easier to identify and compare conditions and support the purchasing process, while helping sellers present their vehicles in the best condition to remarket.
BCA’s appraisal application aims to support the delivery of a consistent inspection process for leisure vehicles, with the external assessment using a Standard Viewing Angle (SVA) of two metres at both 90° and 45° angles, along with a visual assessment of the habitation area and cabin.
Using BCA’s grading algorithm, the information is used to generate a report which also delivers the associated grade of the vehicle (from A to E), with any significant defects imaged and displayed within the online catalogue listing.
BCA Online stages Leisure Vehicles sales on alternate Thursdays at 12pm, with forthcoming events on 19th February, and the 5th and 19th March.
Stuart Pearson, COO of BCA, said: “With growing volumes and high levels of interest in our regular programme of Leisure Vehicle sales, we are delighted to announce the launch of another industry-first with our new leisure vehicle grading service.
“BCA’s considerable expertise in this sector, combined with our latest innovation, will ensure that our customers have access to the best possible and most consistent information when caravans, campervans and motorhomes are offered for sale.
“Whatever the value band, customers want vehicles that can be turned into a sales opportunity quickly, and this new Leisure Vehicle Grading service has been developed to support all parts of this process and provide benefits to buyers and sellers alike.
“The year has got off to a positive start in the leisure sector and BCA remains committed to ongoing investment in technology and infrastructure to support all parts of the buying and selling process across every automotive sector.”
